WEAVERVILLE – Matthew Cook, age 27, of Weaverville died Friday, February 3, 2017 from an accidental drug overdose.
Matthew was born February 10, 1989 in Buncombe County where he had lived all of his life. He enjoyed rock hounding and loved his boxer, Mack.
Surviving are his parents, Larry and Kathy Clinton Cook; brother, Daniel Cook and wife Sonya; paternal grandmother, Beatrice Cole Cook; and nieces, Abigail and Leighton.
Private services will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to CarePartners Hospice, P.O. Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813.
The family would like to thank the critical care nurses at St. Joseph Campus.

Matt was my best friend and he will be missed greatly by many.

Matt and I grew up in school together and have so many wonderful memories. He always knew how to make me laugh and I'm so very sorry for the families loss but am glad he isn't suffering any longer. My utmost condolences for everyone who knew him.s
