Thank you for signing Carolyn Crawford Sawyer's Guestbook
So sorry to learn of the passing of my classmate Carolyn. We graduated together at Enka High School, class of 1959. I recall that she was a popular girl, very vivacious and smart. Sympathy to her family and friends.

She was the best teacher I ever had! She would begin with a little humor and she had such a way to make us look forward to her class. I have thought about her through the years since high school and will remember her beautiful personality. She was the best! I am so sorry for your loss of this beautiful woman.

Ms Sawyer taught me at Erwin in English 2 different years. I remember being in the trailers and being so cold, but she made it fun even diagraming sentences. She was a wonderful lady and I remember when he married Mr. Sawyer. We were so excited. I know she will be missed. Vickie Austin Jennings Class of 72

Mrs. Sawyer was my teacher at Erwin and one of my favorites! She was so smart and so organized and taught in a way I had never experienced. She enlarged my way of thinking and preparing for life beyond school. My condolences to her family and friends. How wonderful to know we will see her again.

Dearest Carolyn will be truly missed. She has taught me so much about having true passion in life. She was an angel sent from above to shower everyone with her wisdom and love. I hated to hear that she had left us but was happy to know that she was at peace up above with Ray by her side. We love her so very much and will miss her bright smile at the Spa. One day we shall meet again and share laughter. Love you so much my dear friend and will miss you. But you'll never be forgotten in our memories. And once the canoe that you gifted is restored, will make more memories in your name. :)
My prayers go out to the family.
Forever remembered and loved,
Zach, Tamara, and Baby Olivia

MY MEMORIES OF CAROLYN ARE SO MANY BECAUSE SHE AND I CONSIDERED OURSELVES AS BROTHER/ SISTER SINCE I DID NOT HAVE A SISTER AND SHE DID NOT HAVE A BROTHER. SHE WORE HER DAD'S PATIENCE OUT SO HE TOLD ME I WOULD HAVE TO TEACH HER TO DRIVE WHICH I DID ON SEVERAL WEEKENDS ON THE BALL FIELD AT WHAT IS NOW CANDLER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, AND YES SHE WORE MY PATIENCE OUT ALSO. AND , YES IT IS TRUE THAT SHE FLUSHED HER PANTIES DOWN THE TOILET AT MY PARENTS HOUSE AND REFUSED TO WEAR MY UNDERWEAR HOME. SHE NEVER WAS ABLE TO BREW SWEET TEA LIKE MY AUNT LILLIAN DID. CAROLYN , JOYCE AND I MET WEEKLY FOR OVER FIVE YEARS AT THE BAPTIST HOME TO CARE FOR HER MOTHER AND MY PARENTS. I ALSO CONVINCED HER TO ATTEND WAKE FOREST AT THE NEW WINSTON-SALEM CAMPUS. I WANT TO THANK RICK, JENNIFER, STAN,KAREN, HELEN,AMANDA, JERRY AND EDNA FOR THEIR CARE OVER THESE LAST DAYS. MAY GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU.
