JOHN DAVID HARWOOD, JR.
WEAVERVILLE – John David Harwood, Jr., age 40 of Weaverville, died Friday, April 7, 2017 at John F. Keever Solace Center.
Mr. Harwood was born December 24, 1976 in Buncombe County where he had lived all of his life. He was a devoted father and husband, and was very involved with his family. He loved the beach. John worked at Mission Hospital for over 20 years. He was preceded in death by his father, John David Harwood, Sr.
Surviving are his wife Robin Harwood; son, Austyn Harwood; mother, Sandra Harwood; sisters, Lisa Harwood, Julie Yale; nieces, Katelyn Peek and Julianna Stockdale; nephew, Presley Stockdale.
The family will receive friends 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, April 9, 2017 at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville.

John was kind, smart, funny and as good a man as I have ever met. If he had an opportunity to help someone, he would.
Because of the resurrection of Jesus, we know we shall see John again. We can rejoice in that sure promise. You will are in my prayers.

John was such a dear sweet soul.It was a joy to work with him...I will miss his kindness and his love for the Tar Heels. My thoughts are with his family.God Grant you peace with the knowledge that he and David are together and we will see them again

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with John many years in the OR at the hospital. He was an awesome man with a great spirit and passion for life. Love and prayers to you in this time of loss.
