WILLIAM “BILLY” SHEPHERD
WEAVERVILLE – William “Billy” Shepherd, age 64 of Weaverville went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 13, 2017.
Mr. Shepherd was born September 8, 1952 in Buncombe County to the late Wade and Bonnie Calloway Shepherd. Billy loved farming, coon hunting and his dogs. He was of the Baptist denomination. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Arnold Lee Shepherd and Roy Frank Shepherd.
Surviving are his sisters, Naomi Davis, Elaine Baldwin and husband Richard, Frances Reed; along with several nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 18, 2017, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Reverend Shane Ball officiating. Burial will be in Calloway Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the staff of The Oaks at Sweeten Creek for all of their love and care; also to Butch Stillwell for his friendship.
