WEAVERVILLE– Chris Lance, age 56, of Weaverville, died Tuesday, March 27, 2018.
Chris was born July 28, 1961 in Norfolk, VA. He was a resident of Buncombe County for most of his life. Chris was a welding robot programmer for Westinghouse, which became Eaton Cutler Hammer, and a licensed general contractor building homes in the area. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Preceding him in death are his mother, Norma Griffin Lance and brother, Charles Allen Lance.
Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Tanja Tucker Lance; father, Harry Gail Lance and wife, Jane; brother, Kevin Lance and wife Margaret; father and mother–in-law, Sam and Joyce Jarvis Tucker; nephews, Justin Lance and Christopher Tucker; nieces, Kimberly Hutchins and husband Jerry, and Samantha Tucker and fiancé, Todd.
Private services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 (use ID 11264509) or Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris St., Greenville, SC 29605

Dear Tanja, I am so sorry for your loss. You are incredibly strong, but I wish that you didn't have to bear this pain. I love you and pray for your comfort. Fortunately, Chris left behind plenty of funny stories that I look forward to hearing you retell.

When I saw you, it was “my Chris” and “your Chris.” Many times we have had the discussion about being prepared to leave this world when we least expect.
