Jerry was my step father but treated me like a daughter and my husband like a son and best friend. They love to fish together and deddy was the best at giving advice. I was the girl so I was a little spoiled. I will miss hearing him say well baby when something was wrong. His passing feels like a bad dream and I need to wake up! The world lost a good man Tuesday morning. We love you deddy

To Jerry Ward's Family, We are so sorry for your loss of Jerry. .Jerry was a life long friend from the Blue Ridge Mountains to the North Carolina Sea. We shared many memories of growing up in the Beaverdam Valley. Our foot prints are all over the beautiful valley. We shared hard times, good times, sad times, and laughter that still echoes across the hills. God watched over us as we made each step from the Ward house to the Pack house, the Redmon house, and all the other caring people in between. Now God has called another wonderful person home to be with Him, Jesus, and Jerry's loved ones that are already in Heaven. May God give Jerry's family and friends numerous memories of his life. May God comfort you with peace until the gates of Heaven open and welcomes you home with Jesus leading you inside. Until that time may God keep you in His loving hands, fill your heart with love, and memories of Jerry. Our prayers, love, and deepest sympathy are with you. Ted and Barbara Pack Holcombe.
