WEAVERVILLE– Chris Lance, age 56, of Weaverville, died Tuesday, March 27, 2018.
Chris was born July 28, 1961 in Norfolk, VA. He was a resident of Buncombe County for most of his life. Chris was a welding robot programmer for Westinghouse, which became Eaton Cutler Hammer, and a licensed general contractor building homes in the area. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Preceding him in death are his mother, Norma Griffin Lance and brother, Charles Allen Lance.
Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Tanja Tucker Lance; father, Harry Gail Lance and wife, Jane; brother, Kevin Lance and wife Margaret; father and mother–in-law, Sam and Joyce Jarvis Tucker; nephews, Justin Lance and Christopher Tucker; nieces, Kimberly Hutchins and husband Jerry, and Samantha Tucker and fiancé, Todd.
Private services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 (use ID 11264509) or Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris St., Greenville, SC 29605

I am so sorry to hear about my good friend Chris. We were best friends throughout high school and he put me on the path that became a career in the fire service. I still think of all the fishing trips we made together. Tanja, I am so sorry for your loss of such a good man and friend.
