Alan Roy Johnson

WEAVERVILLE – Alan Roy Johnson, age 81, of Weaverville died Saturday May 12, 2018. Alan was born April 28, 1937 in Rockville Center, New York. He served in the U.S. Air Force, retired from IBM in Endicott, NY and served as Scout Master and Assistant Scout Master for Troop 7 in Jericho, VT. He volunteered at the North Buncombe Samatiran Ministries for many years. Alan was an avid gardener and loved his yearly vacations, fishing at the Outer Banks of NC. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Margaret Johnson; daughter, Lynn Anne Johnson; son, Keith Alan Johnson; brother, Robert Johnson and wife Louise; and a nephew, Robert Johnson and wife, Laura. His memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 17, 2018 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave. Weaverville. Chaplain Cindy Coleman will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
