ALBERT L. DORSEY WOODFIN - Albert L. Dorsey, age 86, of Brookdale Rd. died Monday, January 26, 2015. Mr. Dorsey was born June 3, 1928 in Hammond, Indiana and had been a resident of Buncombe County for most of his life and was retired from the construction industry. He was the son of the late Harold and Gaynell Waldroup Dorsey and husband of the late Janie Mae Smith Dorsey who died in 2005 and was also preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Lawrence Dorsey. Surviving are his daughter, Annette Dorsey Parker and fiancé Marion Thomas; son, Harold Lee Dorsey and wife Michelle; sisters, Martha Ann Cole and husband Reverend Leonard Cole and Mary Ruth Bartlett and husband Ed; grandchildren, Brian E. Scott, Brent A. Parker and Sileena J. Dorsey. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 29, 2015, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with grandson Brent Parker officiating. Burial will be in Little Ivy Baptist Church Cemetery, Mars Hill. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the residence.
