ALEXANDER BARKLEYSHAW (A.B.) JOINER, JR. WEAVERVILLE–Alexander Barkleyshaw (A.B.) Joiner, Jr. age 80, of Weaverville, died Saturday, March 22, 2008 at St. Joseph Campus. Mr. Joiner was born April 21, 1927 in Orange County, Fla. where he had lived most of his life. He was a resident of Buncombe County for 16 years. A.B. worked for Delta Airlines for 37 years and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. A.B. was a charter member of The First Christian Church of Orlando (Independent). He was the son of the late Alexander Barkleyshaw Joiner, Sr. and Ethel Spat Joiner. Surviving is his wife of 61 years, Betty Broadwell Joiner; daughter, Gail Susan Partridge and husband Steve of Titusville, Fla.; sons, David Allen Joiner of Weaverville and James Alexander Joiner and wife Lisa of Augusta, Ga.; sisters, Mary Louise Dunwody and Margaret Jane Flanagin both of Fla.; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Winter Park, Fla. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Master's Way Christian Church, PO Box 1850, Evans, Ga. 30809.
