WEAVERVILLE—Ambra Hess Garrison, age 89, of 3 Shadowbrook Dr., died Tuesday, August 28, 2012.
A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Mrs. Garrison was born December 12, 1922. She retired in 1985 from Square D. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Weaverville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Dale Hess, Sr., and Nellie Capps Hess; husband, Halbert "Hal" Woodrow Garrison; sister, Edna Jarrett; and brothers, Dale and Leslie Hess. She loved her church, family, friends, and her beautiful flowers.
Surviving are her daughter, Sandra Garrison Massey and her husband Bob of Black Mountain; son, Richard "Rick" Halbert Garrison and his wife Sue of Mars Hill; grandson, Chad Steven Garrison and his wife Lauren of Holly Springs; step-grandson, John Tate, Jr., and his wife Rachel of Asheville; step-granddaughter, Robin Melton and her husband Tim of Black Mountain; five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Her memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 1, 2012, at First Presbyterian Church of Weaverville with Rev. Skip Gillikin officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. A private burial will be held at West Memorial Park.
