Andrew F. \ Melchionna

ASHEVILLE—Andrew F. "Sonny" Melchionna, age 86, of Asheville, died Friday, September 28, 2012. Mr. Melchionna was born August 28, 1926, in New York and was a resident of Buncombe County since 1998. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the US Navy. He attended Asheville Freewill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Yolanda Esposito Melchionna who died in 2011. Surviving are his daughter, Jayne Melchionna, and son, Andrew J. Melchionna, both of Asheville; sister, Elizabeth Reilly; brothers, Ronald Farese, Andy Farese and John Farese. His graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 1, 2012, in Lewis Memorial Park with Rev. Weldon Ramsey officiating.
