TRYON/ WEAVERVILLE - Annie Belle Olmstead, age 83 of 44 Tate Lane, Tryon died Wednesday, July 15, 2015. Mrs. Olmstead was born June 23, 1932 in Buncombe County and was a resident of Weaverville until 1955 when she married Kenneth. For 20 years she lived many places with Kenneth while he served in the military. They lived in Russellville, Arkansas for 32 years before moving to Tryon. She had resided at Aston Park Health Care Center for the past 1 and ½ years. Mrs. Olmstead was a member of Lynn First Baptist Church in Lynn, NC. Preceding Mrs. Olmstead in death were her parents, George and Lena Brooks Roberts as well as brothers, Jack, Jake, Joe and George "Toad" Roberts and sisters, Sadie Ingle and Mary Harrison. Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Kenneth E. Olmstead; daughters, Pam Lammers and husband Keith of Tryon and Suzie Manning and husband Steve of Saluda; sons, Mike Caldwell and wife Ruth also of Saluda, Richard Olmstead and wife Diane and Allen Olmstead and wife Latrisha all of Edmond, OK; sisters, Minnie R. Rice and Barbara Bradley and husband Carroll all of Weaverville; brother, John Roberts also of Weaverville; 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 20, 2015 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home with Reverend Jimmy Owens officiating. Burial will be in West Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Monday prior to the funeral service. Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Aston Park Health Care Center, Employee Fund, 380 Brevard Road, Asheville, NC 28806.
