ARETHA ROBERTS HONEYCUTT WOODFIN - Aretha Roberts Honeycutt, age 85 of 2 Pelzer St. died Tuesday, October 13, 2015. Mrs. Honeycutt was born March 12, 1930 in Buncombe County where she had lived all of her life. Formerly employed at Mills Mfg. Co., she was also a baby sitter for many children. She was a member of Locust Grove Baptist Church. Her parents, Oscar Martin and Carrie R. Roberts preceded her in death, along with her husband, Scovel E. Honeycutt who died in 1997 and a grandson, Christopher King. Surviving are her daughters, Shelia Odom and husband Ben of LaVale, MD and Lelia Cunningham and husband Jimmy of Asheville; sons, Mike Honeycutt and wife Marilyn Lonon of Asheville, Steve Honeycutt and wife Linda of Jamestown and Darrell Honeycutt and wife Karen of Leicester; sisters, Elizabeth Whittemore of Georgia, Betty Patton of Weaverville and Christine Burleson and husband Ben of Asheville; brothers, Tony Roberts and Gary Roberts and wife Dorothy all of Weaverville; grandchildren, Jason Odom and wife Samara, Heather Odom Keller and husband Billy, Brian Cunningham, Dylan Jones, Lexi Honeycutt, William Honeycutt, Jessica Ward and husband Josh, Jenna Honeycutt, Jeremy Honeycutt and Julie Honeycutt. Mrs. Honeycutt's funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2015 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Sluder and Rev. Joseph Sluder officiating. Burial will be in Locust Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Flowers are welcome.
