Arnold "A.D." Davis

Arnold “A.D.” Davis, 73, went home to be with the Lord on May 1, 2024, at Valor Hospice at the Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville, North Carolina. He was born on April 22, 1951, in Buncombe County, where he lived much of his life.

A.D. served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict.  He raised his family in the Charleston, South Carolina area. A sports fan, he enjoyed watching college football, Tarheel basketball, and the Atlanta Braves.  A.D. loved his work family at Eaton, and was known as “the mayor” of his neighborhood, Country Gardens.  He was the go-to helper with community projects, and loved doing yardwork to a meticulous degree.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Beulah Mae Tweed Davis and Benjamin Eugene Walter Davis; his brother, Ronnie Davis; and his sister, Diane Cantrell.

He is survived by his daughters, Kelly Allen (Shannon), and Kristie Payne (Steve); brothers, Larry Davis (Clara), and David Davis; grandchildren, Kyra, Samantha, Kamya, and Hunter; great-grandchildren, Cove and Elleanoir; and several nieces and nephews.

A.D.’s funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, May 6, 2024, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home with Dr. Buddy Corbin officiating.  Visitation will be held from 1:15 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Marshall, with military honors.
