Arnold Lee Edwards

Arnold Lee Edwards, age 87, of Alexander passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2016. Mr. Edwards was born October 13, 1928 in Buncombe County where he had lived all of his life. He was employed for a number of years with Johnson-Chandley Lumber, assembled mufflers with Walker Mfg. and retired form Borg-Warner. Arnold was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was unbeatable at throwing horseshoes and playing checkers. Mr. Edwards was a son of the late Roy and Hattie Parris Edwards. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Elizabeth Hawkins Edwards; daughter, Laura Boyte and husband Brian; and two grandchildren, Justin Lee Boyte and Lindsey Erin Boyte. His graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 12, 2016, at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory, 901 Aiken Rd., Asheville, with Reverend Roy McPeters officiating. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 11, 2016 at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville. At other times, the family will be at the residence.
