AUGUSTA CORDELL NAISH ASHEVILLE - Augusta Cordell Naish, age 91, formerly of Asheville died on Wednesday, September 17, 2014. Mrs. Naish was born November 2, 1922 in Buncombe County where she had lived most of her life. She lived in Chunn's Cove for 58 years. After 26 years of service at Gerber she retired. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and was an excellent seamstress. She made afghans and pillows for family, friends and 26 Gerber retirees. Mrs. Naish was a member of Morningside Baptist Church. Her life revolved around her family and the church. She was the youngest child born to the late Lot Connie Cordell and Minnie Blanche Morgan Cordell and wife of the late Frank Naish, who died in 1990. Surviving are her daughter, Arleen Jennings and husband Arlo of Arden; sons, Ronald Naish and wife Susan of Columbia, SC, and Frank Naish of Caryville, FL; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Her graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 20, 2014, in Sky View Memorial Park, Asheville. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Ascension Hospice, 7142 Woodrow Street, Irmo, SC 29063 or Gideons International.
