Avery Gibson

AVERY GIBSON WEAVERVILLE – Avery Gibson, age 85 of Weaverville died Monday, May 22, 2017. Mr. Gibson was born June 19, 1931 in Haywood County to the late George Richard Gibson and Nellie Maude Honeycutt Gibson. He was a resident of Buncombe County for most of his life. Mr. Gibson enjoyed fishing and NASCAR. Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Jean Gibson; daughters, Brenda Ford of Candler and Jane Fox of Leicester; sons, Richard Gibson and wife Joyce of Weaverville and Michael Gibson and wife Pamela of Candler; 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 24, 2017, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Reverend Steve Rhinehardt officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Wednesday prior to the service.
