B. ARTHUR BUCKNER, JR. WEAVERVILLE - B. Arthur Buckner, Jr., age 92, of 172 Old Burnsville Rd., died Tuesday, February 18, 2014. Mr. Buckner was born December 25, 1921, in Buncombe County. He was a retired farmer and a member of Cole's Cove Baptist Church. Arthur was the son of the late Brownlow Arthur Buckner, Sr. and Essie Burnette Buckner and husband of the late Christine Hollifield Buckner who died in 2008. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Doyle, Boyd and Alvin Buckner. Surviving are his son, Raymond Buckner and wife Dorothy of Weaverville; sisters, Anna Lee Best of Oakley and Amanda Honeycutt of Weaverville; grandchildren, Clifford Buckner and wife Deana and Monica Olnhausen and husband Rick; step grandchildren, Rachel Trull and husband John, Kathy Clubb and husband Michael, and Andy Bailey and wife Sherry; great grandchildren, James Buckner and Shelby Olnhausen; step great grandchildren, Chris Edmonds and Kayla, Dale Singleton and Amber Graham and step great great grandchildren, Hailey and Hannah Edmonds. His funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, February 20, 2014, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Rev. Coy Hollifield Jr. and Rev. Don Burchette officiating. Burial will be in Locust Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Weaverville. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at his residence. Flowers are welcome.
