BARBARA ANNE BOONE LEICESTER - Barbara Anne Boone, age 68 of Leicester died Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Memorial Mission Hospital after a brief period of pneumonia. Miss Boone was born January 8, 1947 in Buncombe County where she had lived all of her life. Barbara was a Christian; she loved her family and her cats. She enjoyed shopping, chocolate and eating out. A daughter of the late Harlon S. and Estelle Angel Boone, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Gene Boone. Surviving are her sisters, Katherine Revis and husband Rex of Leicester, Mary Lou Cole and Husband Garry of Asheville; brothers, Donald Boone of Weaverville, Daniel Boone of Asheville, David Boone and wife Lorena of Shelby; many nieces and nephews; her beautiful cats, Brandy and Tulip; along with caregiver and friend, Lisa Reeves. Her funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, April 9, 2015, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Reverend Erin Michelle Weaver officiating. Burial will be in Sluder Cemetery, Asheville. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home. Flowers are acceptable and appreciated.
