WEAVERVILLE– Mr. Ben C. Beatty, son of the late John W. and Emma Fisher Beaty, was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 2, 2017.
He was a Navy veteran that served in both World War II and the Korean War, and went on to manage and retire from Mitchell’s Tuxedos. He loved spending time with family and fishing at the coast. He also dearly loved his church family at Newbridge Baptist Church.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years, Jane Beatty; daughter, Kathy Beatty-Maynard and son-in-law Ron Maynard; grandsons, Colton, Zach and Hunter Maynard as well as 3 beautiful great grandchildren. His sisters, Dora Bowman of San Antonio, TX, Lorene Huffman of Durham, NC, and brother, Bob Beaty of Atlanta, GA, as well as many nieces and nephews that he adored.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Thomas and brothers, Olin Beaty and Harry Beaty.
His service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 9, 2017 in Newbridge Baptist Church with Pastor Clark Henderson officiating.
The family will greet friends from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Linda and Bob Bell. The love you have shown Ben all through these years will never be forgotten, thank you. Also, we would like to thank Jan Nelson and Debra Chestnut along with the VA home health team and Cori and Four Seasons Hospice. The care and love given in our home will always be remembered.
