ASHEVILLE—Bernard Ray Justice, Sr., age 78, of 11 Wellington Drive, died Saturday, May 30, 2009.
Mr. Justice was born August 5, 1930 in Pike Co., Ky. to the late Elmer and Allie Grimette Justice.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Vicie Justice; daughters, Nancy Justice of Weaverville and Tiffany Ann Justice of the home; son, Bernard Ray Justice, Jr. and wife, Deania of Greeneville, Tenn.; sisters, Mary Lee and Dianah and brother, Ted. He was a loving "Papaw" to Bailey and Hannah Rae Lail of Weaverville.
For a number of years he was a resident of Delbarton, W. Va. before moving to Swartz Creek, Mich., where he was employed at GM for 15 years. In 1969 he moved to Asheville. After his career with GM, as a welder, he continued welding with a local company until his retirement. Mr. Justice was an avid fisherman and vegetable gardener.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 2nd in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville with Dr. Buddy Corbin, chaplain with CarePartners Hospice, officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory, Asheville.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at the residence.
