Bernette Watkins Chambers

BERNETTE WATKINS CHAMBERS LEICESTER – Bernette Watkins Chambers, age 86, of Leicester, celebrated her heavenly homecoming Saturday, May 28, 2016. Mrs. Chambers was born July 9, 1929 in Buncombe County where she had lived all of her life. She enjoyed flower gardening, photo arranging and collecting. Bernette was very family oriented and enjoyed her grand and great grandchildren and was very fond of horses. She was also a prayer warrior for many people and loved her Bible studies. Bernette was a daughter of the late Edgar and Lucinda Masters Watkins and wife of the late F.B. Chambers, Jr. who died in 2011, also preceded in death by her sister, Elizabeth Myers. Surviving are her daughters, Cheryl C. Dover and husband Vernon, Karen Lusk and husband Mike, Gwynne Wells and husband Larry, and Susan Wooten and husband Don, all of Leicester; sister, Marie Clontz of Asheville; eleven grandchildren; and seventeen great grandchildren plus one on the way. Everyone is invited to attend her graveside service which will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 31, 2016, in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory, Asheville, with Reverend Bobby Smith and grandson Bryan Dover officiating.
