BESSIE HARWOOD CARSON BARNARDSVILLE – Bessie Harwood Carson, age 93 of 487 Dillingham Road died Monday, December 21, 2015. Mrs. Carson was born March 22, 1922 in Buncombe County where she had lived all of her life. She had a passion for enjoying everything in life to the fullest, especially her family and friends. Mrs. Carson was a member of Carson’s Chapel Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Lester and Fannie Anderson Harwood. She was also preceded in death, by her husband, Dolph Thomas Carson who died in 1972; granddaughter, Tammy Renee Reece; sister, Dorothy Guthrie and brothers, Bobby, Hesley, Roscoe, Hershel and Billy Harwood. Surviving are her daughters, Patty Parrish and husband Ben of St. Augustine, FL and Jackie Reece of Barnardsville; sons, Wayne Carson and John Carson both of Barnardsville; grandchildren, Tiffany Cove, Ryan Carson and Melissa Parrish; great grandchildren, Ashley Phillips, Jamie Massey, Charlie Cove, Kinlee Carson, and Jordan White; great great granddaughter, Kaylee Massey and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, December 28, 2015 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home. Reverend David Crowder will officiate. Burial will be in Absalom Dillingham Cemetery, Barnardsville. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home prior to the service. Flowers are welcome.
