BETTY FOX CARTER
WEAVERVILLE - Betty Fox Carter, age 78, of Weaverville, died Saturday, November 15, 2014.
Mrs. Carter was born March 21, 1936, in Buncombe County where she had lived most of her life. She was a kind and generous woman with a contagious laugh who loved serving in her community and church, teaching GA's and Acteens and also enjoyed making crafts and painting. She retired from Microswitch in Mars Hill and was a member of Calvary Worship Center in Marshall. She was the daughter of the late John and Dessie Rice Fox.
Surviving are her daughter, Sybil Carter; son, David L. Carter and wife Kathy, all of Mars Hill; sister, Johnnie Hollar and husband Ray of Weaverville; brother, Forrest Fox and wife June of Asheville; five grandchildren, Matt, Derek, and Laura Carter, Travis Hensley, and Frank Carter Parton; and nine great grandchildren.
Her memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 19, 2014, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Pastor Ronald Dodson officiating.
The family will greet friends following the service.
