WEAVERVILLE—Betty Jean Rawls, age 77, of 112 Mundy Cove Rd., died Tuesday, February 19, 2013.
Betty Jean was born August 13, 1935, in Madison County and was a resident of Buncombe County for most of her life. She loved to quilt, grow flowers, and collect Barbie Dolls and Beanie Babies. She was a daughter of the late Charlie C. and Edna Edwards Hensley.
Surviving are her husband of 44 years, Jerry Rawls; daughter, Glenda Lewis and husband Mark of Weaverville; sons, Ed Dockery and wife April of Asheville and Jimmy Dockery and wife Savannah of Weaverville; sisters, June Lee Ballard and husband Jim and Catherine Johnson, all of Weaverville; brother Charles Weldon Hensley of Henderson County; eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
The family will greet friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., Saturday, February 23, 2013, at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with a sharing of memories at 3:00 p.m.
At other times, the family will be at the home of Catherine Johnson, 15 South Haven Dr., Asheville, NC 28804.
