BETTY JEAN ROBERTS HERRON WEAVERVILLE – Betty Jean Roberts Herron, loving wife, mother, and grandmother at age 80 went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 19, 2016. Betty Jean was born October 14, 1936 in Buncombe County where she had lived all of her life and attended Locust Grove Baptist Church, Weaverville. She was a daughter of the late Lewis A. and Flonie Pegg Roberts. Surviving are her husband, Ivan Herron with whom she celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on October 28th; daughters, Iva Jean Metcalf and husband Larry, and Sandra Snyder and husband Robert; son, “Randy” Herron, all of Weaverville; sisters, Juanita Buckner, and Carolyn Roberts; brother, Donnie Roberts, all of Alexander; grandchildren, Jeremy Emory and wife Sharon, Israel Emory and wife Stacia, Kellie Kendall and husband Brent, Austin Metcalf and wife Jessie, Michelle Ball and husband James, Monica McLeod and husband Jeff, Casandra Snyder, and Christina Walker; great grandchildren, Brayden, Tyce, Camden, Connor, Emrie, Mason, Amanda, Bailey, Madison, Caroline, and Caitlin; and many special nieces and nephews. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 23, 2016, in Locust Grove Baptist Church, 305 Locust Grove Road, Weaverville, with her grandsons Reverend Jeremy Emory and Israel Emory officiating. Burial will be in West Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at West Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the home of Sandra and Robert Snyder, 519 Locust Grove Road, Weaverville. Due to Betty Jean’s love of flowers they will be graciously accepted or memorials may be made to Locust Grove Baptist Church.
