BARNARDSVILLE—Beulah "Bea" Henderson Carson, 95, of 226 Dillingham Road went to be with the Lord Saturday, September 4, 2010.
Mrs. Carson was born November 9, 1914 in Madison County and has been a resident of Buncombe County since 1935. An avid gardener all of her life, she had a special love for her flowers. She was the oldest child born to the late, Andrew Woodson Henderson and Gertrude Messer Henderson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Zola Henderson, Faye Brooks, Mabel Russell, Addie Buckner and Rita Roberts; brothers, Ralph, Paul and Fred Henderson and her husband, Herschel Carson who died in 1986.
Surviving are her daughter, Linda Carter and husband Leonard of Weaverville; son, Franklin Carson of Mars Hill; brother, Carl Henderson and wife Jackie of Marshall; grandchildren, Brian Carter and wife Mona and Andy Carter and wife Stephanie; great grandchildren, Brianna Carter, Austin Carter and Brandon and Shana Young and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Carson's funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville with Rev. Jake Fender officiating. Burial will follow in West Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 7th at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at the home of Andy and Stephanie Carter, 147 Double Brook Dr., Weaverville.
