BILL J. WHITTED WEAVERVILLE - Bill J. Whitted, age 88, of 136 Dula Springs Rd. died Monday, February 10, 2014. Mr. Whitted was born October 11, 1925 in Buncombe County where he had lived all of his life. He retired from Perry Alexander Construction Company and was a member of West View Baptist Church. Bill enjoyed building bird houses. A son of the late Ken and Helen Swann Whitted, he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Peggy W. Ray and Ruby Ray. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Ella Mae Rice Whitted; sisters, Maxine Moore, Judy Robinson and Eunice Rice and brother, Kenneth Whitted. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 14, 2014, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Rev. Ricky Honeycutt officiating. Burial will be in Capps Family Cemetery on Herron Cove Road. The family will greet friends following the service. Flowers are welcome.
