Blaine Landon Plemmons

BLAINE LANDON PLEMMONS WEAVERVILLE - Blaine Landon Plemmons, age 77, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015 in Weaverville, following a brief illness. Mr. Plemmons was born on March 31, 1937 in Bluff, NC. Blaine was formerly employed at Farmers Federation from 1954 to 1961, Electric Supply Company from 1964 to 1989, and Lowes from 1990 to 2007. He was a son of the late Farida and Viola Haney Plemmons, the ninth of eleven children. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Wiley and W.O. Plemmons; and sister, Elsie Culbertson. Blaine is survived by a large, loving family including his wife of 58 years, Mary Louise Fair Plemmons of Asheville; four children; Diane Horrell of Kinston, NC, Sharon Bright of Greenville, SC, Pam Collins of Weaverville, and Brian Plemmons of Arden; eight grandchildren, Heather Horrell, Jeremy Bright, Josh Plemmons, Candice Horrell, D.J. Bright, Ty Bright, Christina Collins, Ashley Horrell; five great grandchildren; and siblings, J.R., Calvin, David, and Dean Plemmons, Helen Riddle, Lillian Matthews and Joy Radford. His funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 1, 2015, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Reverend Zachary Plemmons officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at the residence.
