BONNIE BALL ALLMAN WEAVERVILLE - Bonnie Ball Allman, age 98, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 5, 2014. Mrs. Allman was born August 26, 1915, in Buncombe County where she had lived all of her life. She was a lifelong member of Locust Grove Baptist Church and was a retiree of Hadley Corp. of Weaverville. She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Burgie Wallen Ball and wife of the late Arthur Miles Allman who died in 1980. Mrs. Allman was also preceded in death by two sons, Norman and Gerald Allman. Surviving are her son, Gene Allman and wife Glenda; granddaughter, April Childers and husband Mark; grandson, Mark Allman and wife Christy; great granddaughters, Mackenzie and Alex; great grandson, Tyler; sister, Harriet Holland and her daughters of Morganton; former daughter-in-law, Linda Allman Crowe and husband Phillip; and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, April 7, 2014, in Locust Grove Baptist Church, Weaverville, with Rev. Ben Whitmire and Rev. Roy Shepherd officiating. Burial will be in Locust Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Monday at Locust Grove Baptist Church. At other times, the family will be at the home of Gene Allman, 10 Locust Grove Road, Weaverville, NC 28787. Flowers are welcome. The family would like to express a special thank you to the church for their love and faithfulness to Bonnie over the years. Also a special thank you and appreciation to Madison Health and Rehabilitation employees for all their love and care shown to Miss Bonnie during her stay at the Manor.
