BRUCE E. MCKINNEY WEAVERVILLE - Bruce E. McKinney, age 88 of Weaverville died Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at John F. Keever Solace Center. Mr. McKinney was born October 23, 1927 in Buncombe County where he lived all of his life. He was a Veteran of the Korean War, serving in the 82nd Airborne Division of the US Army. A son of the late Garfield and Althea Hensley McKinney, Bruce was also preceded in death by brother, Richard McKinney; and sister, Helen Phillips. Mr. McKinney is survived by a niece; and nephew; along with many friends. His graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, December 15, 2015, in the Old Weaverville Cemetery, with Reverend Al Harrell officiating. The body will be available for viewing at West Funeral Home between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service. West Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
