WEAVERVILLE—C. L. "Bill" Moore, age 81 of Weaverville, died Thursday, December 25, 2008. Mr. Moore was born May 26, 1927 in Henderson County and was a resident of Buncombe County most of his life. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the US Navy. Bill was the son of the late Columbus and Molly Watkins Moore. He was also preceded in death by a brother Bobby Moore. Surviving is his wife of 59 years, Almarene Edwards Moore, daughter, Libby Ashauer and husband Denis of Greenville, Wis., son, Doug Moore and wife Abby, sister; Katherine Ingle, brother; Rev. Jimmy Moore all of Weaverville; two special grandsons, whom he loved dearly, Spencer Moore of Weaverville and Doug C. Moore and wife Nicky of Durham. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 28th in Moore Family Cemetery, Weaverville, with Reverend Troy Edwards officiating. Military rites will be by VFW Post #5483, Mars Hill Memorial Team. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. Saturday at West Funeral Home.
