ASHEVILLE—Carl Parham Riddle, age 75, loving dad and grandfather, and great grandfather, went to be with his Lord and Savior and be reunited with his loved ones on Friday, March 2, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Riddle was born December 4, 1936, in Buncombe County of which he was a resident for most of his life. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 30 years of service. He was a member of Woodland Hills Church. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Jason and Katherine Riddle; and his wife, Nina Lee Riddle who died in 2006. He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Spagnuolo and her husband Michael of Asheville and son, David Riddle and his wife Lyndsie of Charleston, S.C.; brothers, Bobby Riddle and wife Ida of Texas and Richard Riddle and wife Vera of South Carolina. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Bentlee, Benjamin and Sarah, Rachael and Kevin, Sarah and Chad, Hannah and Russell, Rebekah and Aaron, Joanna and Brian, Anna and Phillip, Jennah, Micah, and Rocky; and 13 great grandchildren, Madeline, Jack, Gabriella, Olivia, Aiden, Addisson, Lochlan, Ian, Jeremiah, Michael, Thomas, Isabella, and Francesco. His funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 5, 2012, at Woodland Hills Church with Revs. Bob Belford and Alan Cox officiating. Burial will be in Newfound Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., prior to the service. Memorials may be made to CarePartners Hospice, PO 25338, Asheville, NC 28813. West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, is in charge of arrangements.
