Carmel Riley Suttles

ASHEVILLE - Carmel Riley Suttles of Asheville passed away at home Saturday, May 13, 2023, after a long battle with cancer.

He was 86 years old and son of the late Fairda and Julia Surrett Suttles. An infant sister and two brothers, Reeves and Forrest Suttles preceded him in death.

Surviving are his loving wife of 66 years, Theda Howell Suttles; daughters, Debra Suttles Crowder and husband Randy, Vickie Suttles, and Kimberly Suttles Anders and husband Julian; grandson, Adam Hurdt, and wife Ashley; granddaughter, Katelyn Turpin and husband Dustin; great grandson, Ryder Hurdt and great granddaughter, Bella Angel.

His funeral service will be held 2:30 pm Wednesday, May 17, 2023, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home. Rev. David Scruggs will officiate. Burial will follow in West Memorial Park.

The family will greet friends prior to the service 1:15 pm to 2:15 pm on Wednesday.
