Carol Elaine Banks

BARNARDSVILLE – Carol Elaine Banks, age 81, of Barnardsville passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at her home.

Mrs. Banks was born December 26, 1940, in Etowah County, Alabama and was a resident of Florida and North Carolina for many years.  She was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Willie Limbaugh Simmons. She and her late husband, Parks Banks, worked together in the nursery and farming business as well as being landlords.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Parks Banks and was also preceded in death by her son, Carl Coger; sister, Doris Cox; and brother, Doyle Simmons. 

Mrs. Banks is survived by daughters, Jackie Payne of Port Orchard, WA; and Carrie Noatch (Mitch) of Cleburne, TX; sons, Hershel Coger of Honey Grove, TX; Jessie Coger (Stacy) of Green Cove Springs, FL; sister, Jean Byers of Hickory, NC; brother Reverend Steven Simmons (Deborah) of Southside, AL; eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

A funeral service for Mrs. Banks will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 10th in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Avenue, Weaverville, with Reverend David Crowder officiating.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 9th at West Funeral Home.  Burial will be in West Memorial Park.
