Carolyn Hollifield Anderson

WEAVERVILLE—Carolyn Hollifield Anderson, age 92, of 228 Herron Cove Road, died Friday, December 9, 2011. Mrs. Anderson was born May 5, 1919 in Buncombe County and had lived in the Herron Cove Community all of her life. She formerly worked at Hadley's of Weaverville and retired from Connie Fashions. Since 1929 she had been a member of Long's Chapel Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Jake Elvin and Savannah McHone Hollifield and wife of the late Joseph "Joe" Anderson who died in 1994. Surviving are her daughters, Joyce Anderson Osteen of Lake Lure and Donna Sue Anderson Marks of Arden; grandchildren, Elizabeth "Bib" Banks, Terry Banks and Vanessa Brank Boone and great grandchildren, Mitchell Cason, Windell Banks, Justin Hayes and Terra Hayes. Also Cody Gaddis whom she loved like a grandson and her life long friend Minnie Rice. Mrs. Anderson's funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 14, 2011 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville with Rev. Troy Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Long's Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
