Carolyn Seastrunk Corn

ASHEVILLE – Carolyn Seastrunk Corn, age 89, died Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Mission Hospital.

Mrs. Corn was a lifelong resident of Buncombe County.   

Carolyn was a member of Eastern Star.  She retired from Buncombe County Department of Social Services.  She worked for Asheville Steinmart from the time they opened until closing in October of 2020.  She was a lifelong member of Brookstone Church, formerly North Asheville Baptist Church where her father was a founding deacon.  She enjoyed planting flowers and working in her yard.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cliff  and Connie Lyles Seastrunk; husband, Floyd L. Corn; brother, C. L. Seastrunk; and a grandson, Robby Corn. 

Surviving is her daughter, Brenda Ramsey; sons, Gary Corn, Floyd Lee Corn, Jr., Kevin Corn (Barbara), and Tracey Corn; grandchildren, Donavon Ramsey, Brandi Ramsey, Denise Ramsey, Aidan Corn and Cameron Corn; great grandchildren, Tsali Calhoun-Ramsey, Kateland Craig and Skylar Ensley; and many neices and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at Brookstone Church, Weaverville with Rev. Jimmy Dykes officiating.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL  33131.
