CAROLYN FOX RAY WEAVERVILLE -Carolyn Fox Ray, age 64, of Dogwood Drive, died Tuesday, December 3, 2013. Mrs. Ray was born December 12, 1948 in Buncombe County where she had lived all of her life. Mrs. Ray was employed as a secretary with the Adams-Hendon Law Firm for the past 25 years. Carolyn was a member of the Newbridge Baptist Church teaching 5th-6th graders Sunday school for 20 years. She was the daughter of the late Pender and Unave Sherlin Fox. Surviving are her husband of 45 years, Doug Ray; sons, Scott Ray and wife Jessica, Jeff Ray and wife Amanda; sister, Mary Ann Cole; half-sister, Stella Mae Evans; grandchildren, Elijah Ray, Eulalia Ray, and one soon to be born. A service of remembrance will be held at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 4, 2013 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville with Rev. Clark Henderson officiating. The family will receive friends following the service until 8:00 p.m. The body will remain at the funeral home until placed in the church one hour prior to the additional service on Thursday. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 5, 2013 in Newbridge Baptist Church, 199 Elkwood Ave, Asheville with Rev. Clark Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. At other times, the family will be at the residence.
