Carolyn Crawford Sawyer

CAROLYN CRAWFORD SAWYER WEAVERVILLE – Carolyn Crawford Sawyer, age 75 of Weaverville died Monday, April 3, 2017. Mrs. Sawyer was born April 26, 1941 in Buncombe County where she had lived all of her life. She taught at Clyde A. Erwin High School for 30 years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Weaverville. Daughter of the late Hugh Vedrath and Lillian Bryson Crawford, she was also preceded in death by her husband Raymond Sawyer, who died in 2016. Carolyn is survived by double first cousin, Bruce Crawford; cousins, Ralph Messer and Bill Reynolds; special caretakers, Richard and Jennifer Nelson, Stan and Karen Byers, Helen Jo McKinney, Amanda Chambers and Jerry Weaver. Her graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, April 7, 2017 in West Memorial Park, Roberts St., Weaverville, with Reverend Skip Gillikin officiating.
