Carrol David Mundy

BARNARDSVILLE – Carrol David Mundy, age 85, of Barnardsville went to be with the Lord, July 2, 2024.

Carrol was born November 8, 1938, in Buncombe County to the late Morris M. and Atlas Burrell Mundy. He was a home builder for many years; having built 100’s of homes. A member and deacon of Paint Fork Freewill Baptist Church, where he also served as trustee. After retirement he enjoyed cross stitching and reading. As long as he was able, he enjoyed gardening.

In addition to his parents, Carrol was preceded in death by his daughters, Sharon Harwood, and Shelia Fox; granddaughter, Lauren Elizabeth Ponder and sister, Grace Hyder.

Surviving are his grandchildren, Tonya Ponder (Tim), Jill Fox and David Fox (Lizbeth); great grandchildren, Kevin Davis, Lily Ponder, Madason Heim, Oliver Fox and Liam Fox; sister, Alma Coates (Larry), brother, Williard Mundy (Mae); nieces and nephews, Gary Hyder (Kirston), Gerald Hyder (Linda), Ronnie Mundy (Sandra), Johnny Mundy (Rhonda), Mark Mundy, Melisa Coates and Tim Coates (Chelsie); along with numerous great nephews and great nieces.

His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 5, 2024, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home. Reverends Anthony Fox and Larry Coates will officiate. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory, Asheville. 

The family will receive friends from 9:45 to 10:45 am, Friday prior to the funeral.
