CHARLES EDWARD “ED” FERGUSON
WEAVERVILLE – Charles Edward “Ed” Ferguson, age 78, of Weaverville, died Friday, February 19, 2016 at the John F. Keever Solace Center.
Mr. Ferguson was born May 17, 1937 in Madison County and was a resident of Buncombe County for most of his life. He retired after 37 ½ years from Overnite Trucking, Inc. and attended Newbridge Baptist Church. He was the son of the late Opal Robinson Ferguson.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Shelby Roberts Ferguson; daughters, Tiawana Ramsey and husband Jimmie of Marshall, and Teresa Sawyer and husband Tim of Alexander; sisters, Mary Greulick of Burnsville, Betty Jarvis of Marshall, and Janie Jarvis and husband Kenneth of Mars Hill; brother, Sam Ferguson of Plantation, FL; and a very special grandson, Carson Crawford.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 22, 2016, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Reverend Clark Henderson and Reverend Eddie Rice officiating. Burial will be in West Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, February 21, 2016, at the funeral home.
At other times, the family will be at the residence.
