CHRISTINE WYATT GUTHRIE BANKS LEICESTER - Christine Wyatt Guthrie Banks, age 87 of New Liberty Drive died Friday, November 27, 2015. Mrs. Banks was born May 16, 1928 in Haywood County and was a resident of Buncombe County for most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Cling and Rosetta McMahan Wyatt. Also preceding her in death were her husbands, Andy Guthrie who died in 1953 and Wayne Banks who died in 2004; along with her son, John A. Guthrie. Surviving are her daughters, Rosalee Moore of Asheville and Waynette McManus of Columbia, SC; sons, Gene Guthrie of Leicester, Bill Guthrie of Omaha, NE, Jack Guthrie of Virginia Beach, VA and Mike Banks of Asheville; brother, Clifford Wyatt of Waynesville; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 2, 2015 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home with Rev. Buddy Corbin officiating. Burial will be in West Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. prior to the funeral. Flowers are acceptable and appreciated.
