ASHEVILLE - Christine "Kristi" Renee Hunnicutt age 44, of Asheville died Friday, September 26, 2014 at John F. Keever Solace Center after a courageous battle with cancer. Kristi was born December 2, 1969 in Buncombe County where she had lived most of her life. She attended Erwin High School and Fletcher School of Dance. She was the daughter of Troy Frank Hunnicutt and Janette Redmon Hunnicutt of Asheville. Surviving in addition to her parents are her daughter, Brandie Hunnicutt; sons, Andre Griffin, Jr. and Jayden Troy Hunnicutt all of Asheville; brother, Brandon Troy Hunnicutt and fiancée, Chelsea Marie Collins of Centennial, Colo. and friends who were an extended family who supported her during her illness. Her memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 3, 2014 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at 70 Knoll Ridge Drive, Asheville, NC 28804. For the benefit of her children a memorial fund will be established at Wells-Fargo account number 2920581044. After a long battle with cancer Kristi is now able to continue dancing and enjoying her music.
