Christopher Scott Cole passed to his heavenly home on Monday, April 8, 2024 at the Solace Center in Asheville, NC, just two days short of his 54th birthday after an eighteen-year battle with thyroid cancer.
Scott was the son of Zane K. and Judy B. Cole of Weaverville, NC. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his two children, James Seth Cole (Lindsey) and Alexis Cole (Matt) both from Weaverville, and two sisters, Beth Kauffman (Troy) of Loveland, Co., and Kimberly Hollar (Aubrey) of Weaverville; nephews, Dean Hollar (Ally) of Black Mountain and Grayson Hollar (Brooke) of Wilmington, NC; uncles and aunts, Ted Bolden of Forest City, NC, Ronald Cole (Sarah) of Weaverville and Gail Bailey of Leicester; great-nephew Rowan Cash Hollar; special cousins, Wayne Cole, Ryan Cole, Travis Cole, Steve Bailey, Rachel Rogers and Paul Zumwalt; and Scott’s special “brother”, Will Nesbitt (Mindy) of Alabama.
Scott was a 1988 graduate of North Buncombe High School where he played Football and ran Track. He was an avid Carolina and Atlanta Braves fan. He enjoyed fishing and playing video games. After technical college, Scott was employed at National Cash Register in the Asheville area for the past 24 years.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to the American Cancer Society as Scott was helped in many ways throughout the last 18 years, or to the Shelter Dog Transport Alliance at www.shelterdogtransportalliance.com.
A Private Family Graveside Service will take place prior to a Celebration of Life at Weaverville United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall from 2-4 pm on Saturday, May 18, 2024. Please wear Carolina Blue as we share in an Ice Cream Social/Dessert Bar.
