CLARA HALE EDMONDS
BARNARDSVILLE – Clara Hale Edmonds, age 92, of Barnardsville died Thursday, October 13, 2016.
Mrs. Edmonds was born March 30, 1924 in Buncombe County where she had lived all of her life. Clara formerly worked as a seamstress at Hadley’s in Weaverville. She was a member and former church clerk at Paint Fork Missionary Baptist Church. Preceding Mrs. Edmonds in death were her parents, E.S. and Dovie Burrell Hale; husband, Charles W. Edmonds, who died in 1984; son, Ricky Edmonds; sisters, Jettie Gregg, Ruby Harwood and Ossie Burrell; brother, Clarence Hale.
Surviving are her daughters, Peggy Justice and husband Zane of Weaverville, Shirley Lamb and husband Charlie of Fletcher, Glenda McPeters and husband Wayne of Barnardsville; grandchildren, Devon Justice and wife Karla, Jason Edmonds and wife Nina, Deidra Edmonds, Andrea McPeters; great grandchildren, Tristen and Chelsea Justice, Kailey Edmonds, Maddie Rogers.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, October 16, 2016, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Reverends Shane Lunsford and Don Burchette officiating. Burial will be in Paint Fork Cemetery, Barnardsville.
The family will receive friends 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
