WEAVERVILLE—Clarence A. Little, age 73, of Weaverville, died Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at his home.
Mr. Little was born September 7, 1939, in Buncombe County where had lived most of his life. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving as a jet engine mechanic. Following his military service, he worked for the Union Pacific Railroad in La Grande, Ore. He then worked for Taylor & Murphy Construction, Terry Brothers Construction, and Excavation Specialist. Clarence was a published author. He enjoyed racing, taking cruises, riding his Harley, and most of all time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd H. Little and Lura Anders Stamey; and brothers, Jerry, Hal and Dan Little.
Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Patricia Swann Little; daughters, Cindi L. Randall and husband Ron of Weaverville, and Tina L. Ballard and husband Richard of Johnson City, Tenn.; grandchildren, Sam Little and Sarah Beth Ballard.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 5, 2013, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Pastor Richard Ballard officiating. Burial will be in West Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
