MARS HILL—Larry Glenn Clausen, age 63, of 13 Holly Hill Farm Rd., died Saturday, June 15, 2013. Mr. Clausen was born October 27, 1949, in Ohio and was a resident of Naples, Fla., for most of his life. He was a free spirit; he loved life, windsurfing, and working with wood. He served in the US Marine Corps from 1969-1972, receiving three Purple Hearts and one Silver Star for his service. He was a self-employed contractor in residential building. L.C. was the son of the late Genevieve Ferguson. Surviving are his daughter, Susannah Carver and husband Chris F. Carver of Mars Hill; step-daughter, Kai Hill of Eureka, Calif.; by his former wife and love of his life, Marie Barnett Clausen of Naples, Fla.; sisters, Kay Dake, Sandra Thomas and Geri Scofield; grandchildren, Jackson, Jorden, and Jasper Carver; step-grandson, Phoenix Dorje; his dog Nikki; and lots of close friends in Naples. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Naples, FL (maybe August). West Funeral Home is assisting the family.
