Clenard Greene

WEAVERVILLE– Clenard Greene, age 86, of Weaverville, died Saturday, March 31, 2018. Mr. Greene was born May 11, 1931 in Mars Hill to the late McKinley T. and Emiline Wilde Greene. He worked as a truck driver for 68 years and was the owner of C. Greene Trucking; he loved trucking with his sons, Danny and Mike and son-in-law Rocky. Mr. Greene spent his life taking care of family and others. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Iva Glen Fisher Greene; son, Danny Clenard Greene; granddaughter, Carrie McCarty; sisters, Easter Fisher, Sadie Coffey and Irene Fox and brothers, Albin Greene, Walter Greene and M.T. Greene Surviving are his daughters, Sandra G. Allen and husband David and Susan Ragsdale and husband Rocky; son, Michael C. Greene and Carol all of Weaverville; grandchildren, Amanda Wallen of Weaverville, Jeremy Allen and wife Apsara of Durango, CO, Kristy Davis and husband Brent, Brandon Greene and wife Erin and Curtis Greene all of Weaverville; great grandchildren, Savannah Worley and husband Justin, Bryan Davis, Trey Allen, Kalena Allen, Jacob Greene, Sadie Greene and Landon Greene; step-sister, Christine Coffey; beloved sisters-in-law, Grace F. Buckner and husband Frank and Helen F. Griffin and husband Claude; several loving nieces and nephews; special friend of the family, Amy Galloway and special lifelong friend, Preston Edwards. His funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Oak Grove Baptist Church, of which he was a member. Rev.’s Philip Parker and Garland Rice will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at West Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the residence.
