ASHEVILLE—Clifton Ross Cole, age 72, of Ballantree Drive died Thursday, July 21, 2011.
Mr. Cole was born April 13, 1939 in Simpsonville, W. Va., and was a resident of Asheville for the past 22 years. He was a master carpenter and glazer. Cliff invented the Miracle Lint Mitt. He was a crosscut saw and ax champion of seven states, and a canoe champion. He was the son of the late Henry Ross Cole and Connie Fern Cole.
Surviving are the love of his life, Elaine McPherson, owner of A Stitch in Time; daughter, Virginia Ann Cole of NY; sons, Jeff Cole and wife Ruth of Blacksburg, VA, Valdimir Cole and wife Fionioa of Seattle, WA, Sasha Cole and wife Angela of Knoxville, TN, and Niles Cole and wife Rebecca of Albania; adopted son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Rebecca Biddix (and their children); sisters, Lorraine Hale and Pat Rogers and husband Bill.
His service will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, July 24, 2011, at Center for Creative Living, 2 Science of Mind Way (off Shelburne Rd.) Asheville, with Rev. Barbara Waterhouse officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Sky View Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM prior to the service at the church.
